Associate in Arts (AA) Degree

Apply

Study psychology and build a solid foundation in gen ed courses at EICC. With low-cost tuition and guaranteed transfer agreements in place, this is the smart way to do your first two years. Small classes instead of huge lecture sections are a bonus, too.

What You Learn as a Psychology Transfer Major

Study general, social, and developmental psychology. Learn why people behave as they do, whether in a group or as a leader. Discover the connection between physical, emotional, intellectual, and social evolution. Ace your statistical skills — you need those for research. Build a foundation in the social sciences and liberal arts.

What Can I Do With a Psychology Degree?

Share critical insight. Psychologists study cognitive, emotional, and social processes and behavior. You will observe, research, and record how people relate to one another and their environments. This information helps improve lives.

Want to go deeper? Earn a master’s degree or a PhD. Then work as a clinical psychologist, specialize in forensics, or work in rehab helping people adjust after a major accident or illness.

What are Transfer Majors

The Psychology Transfer Major is part of EICC's statewide Transfer Major associate's degree program. It was developed through a partnership between Iowa's community colleges, public universities, and many private colleges. It outlines the precise courses you need to complete if you want to transfer to a four-year college and study this specific major. The partner colleges and universities have approved the EICC courses, so all the credits you earn with us fully transfer toward your bachelor's degree.  It's streamlined and simple.

If EICC is your first stop to a four-year degree, this is a great option!

TRANSFER PLANNING
Nicole Bristol
"Continuing my education after so long was intimidating. I didn’t think I could handle college and work full time, let alone afford it. But EICC has been with me every step of the way. There’s free adult education courses, easy transfer plans, scholarships, and financial aid helping cover the costs."

2+2 = Savings

Here’s a secret: biology is biology no matter where you take the course. But the cost isn’t the same. Do your first two years at EICC and wipe out those required general education courses, then transfer to finish your Bachelor’s degree. The 24 months and 60+ credits you earn with us will cost less than one semester at most public or private universities. Save your money. High-quality and low-cost. That’s our niche.
