EICC to host Understanding the Digital World

Student using a computerFor many people, today’s digital world can be a bit overwhelming. Trying to understand constantly changing web browsers and operating systems, not to mention the whole world wide web thing, can be too much to get their arms around.

That’s where Understanding the Digital World, a new continuing education class at Eastern Iowa Community Colleges comes in. Scheduled for four nights, 6 - 9 p.m. on Thursdays from September 14 to October 5, the class will help even the most beginning person to navigate their way around a computer.

The class takes away the confusion and shows how to use a computer more effectively and how to become more comfortable with the internet.

Topics include:

  • How to organize files to make it easier to find them later.
  • Taking the mystery out of files and folders.
  • Explaining what those different buttons are in software programs.
  • More effectively searching the internet.
  • And just what is this “cloud” people keep referring to?

Cost of the class is $195. For more information call 1-888-336-3907. Students can register online at www.eicc.edu/ceregistration
