Student working at computerThat means there are plenty of jobs available right here in our area for those with the proper training, the kind of training available through Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC).

Area residents can learn more during a July 17 information session from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Scott Community College Urban Campus, 101 W. Third Street, in downtown Davenport. The new $32 million campus houses the most current computer labs, training equipment and accessories available in the market.

The college delivers a wide array of options from which students can choose including virtual reality, computer networking and programming, cyber security, database management, web development and more.

That versatility of options allows students to specialize in the area that best fits their talents and interests. For those outside the Quad Cities area, training is also available at EICC’s Clinton and Muscatine Community Colleges.

Those attending the July 17 session will have the opportunity to tour the facilities and even use some of the high tech equipment themselves. College representatives and faculty will also be on hand to answer any questions about the programs, job prospects, college admissions and financial aid.
