Graphic Arts Program Moves Online
5/4/21
Eastern Iowa Community Colleges is moving its long-standing Graphic Arts program entirely online.
Begun more than 25 years ago at EICC’s Clinton Community College, the program officially moves online this fall. The goal is to make it more accessible to everyone. Now, regardless of where someone lives, they can complete the program.
Information Sessions
Sessions will be held online, via Zoom on Wednesday, June 23.
The program includes both a two-year Associate in Applied Science Degree option as well as a one-year Diploma. It does allow students to begin in the Diploma program and continue into the Degree without losing any time or credits.
In the first year, students dive right into hands-on, in-depth training in Adobe products including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. They also receive a strong understanding of such important areas as color theory and correction, drawing, typography and art appreciation.
The second year includes training in packaging design, study in content management systems for website development, social media branding and production of a personal portfolio for use in future job interviews.
Upon completion, graduates have the real-world skills needed for employment in business, commercial printing, media outlets, advertising agencies, website production and more.
Iowa Resident Get Their Tuition Paid
The graphic arts program is included in Iowa’s Last Dollar program. That means Iowa residents do not have to pay tuition to enroll, it’s all covered.
The program works simply. You file for financial aid and the state covers the remaining balance beyond the aid for which you are eligible. Even if you receive no federal or state aid, the program will pay your entire tuition. That's right, regardless of your personal income situation, you will pay no tuition costs.
For those living outside the state, financial aid is available.
