SCC Belmont Campus Closed Oct. 5 - 11
The Scott Community College Belmont Campus will be closed beginning Monday, October 5, with a planned re-opening of Monday, October 12. The decision to close the campus was made in an abundance of caution due to a small but significant number of positive Covid-19 cases among employees.
On-campus classes will be held online or Live Online. Please check Canvas for specific instructions from your faculty. Online and LIVE Online courses delivered remotely will continue as scheduled.
Student services previously scheduled on the SCC Belmont Campus will be provided remotely. Go to Student Resources and Assistance for more information about accessing our offices.
All other Scott Community College campuses as well as all Clinton and Muscatine Community College campuses will remain open.
Eastern Iowa Community Colleges Human Resources have contacted all those believed to be potentially in direct contact with a COVID-positive employee. The decision to close was made to ensure the safety of the college’s students and employees by allowing time to complete testing of all those who may have had direct contact with COVID-positive cases and to provide a deep cleaning of the campus. This also allows those who desire to get a COVID-19 test for personal assurance to do so.
We will continue to monitor health and safety conditions on our campuses and in our communities and respond as needed to changing conditions. We appreciate all efforts to keep our campuses and communities as safe as possible.
