CCC Main and Tech Center On-Campus Classes Moving to Live Online for Two Weeks

Throughout this pandemic, EICC has prioritized the health and safety of its students and employees while also remaining committed to providing the education and training needed by you, our students and our communities. We have made decisions regarding the availability of services and the opening of our facilities based upon the best public health guidance available, and have always promised to monitor the health conditions in our communities and to respond as needed to changes in these conditions.

In response to significant public health concerns in Clinton County, including a high positive test rate and a continuing increase in new cases, which have been compounded by the damage caused by last week’s storm, all on-campus, face-to-face classes (Classroom PLUS) on the Clinton Community College main campus and CCC Technology Center will be delivered remotely using scheduled Zoom and online technologies (LIVE Online) until September 8, when we plan to return to on-campus instruction if permitted by improving conditions.

The CCC main campus will remain open to provide student services, access to computer labs, WiFi and electricity for students.

Clinton Community College will have the following hours for student services and access:

Weeks of August 24 – 28 and August 31 – September 4

  • Student Services (Advising, Registration, Financial Aid, Business Office):
    • 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
    • For Student Services, we encourage you to make an appointment prior to coming to campus.

  • Library:
    • 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

  • Computer Labs:
    • 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

  • Study Spaces (with Wifi and Electricity):
    • 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Your instructors will be communicating with you via email and through your Canvas courses with special instructions related to the first two weeks of classes. These messages will be sent/posted by 5 pm on Friday, August 21. Please check your email and Canvas courses prior to the start of classes so you will know how to access your course(s).

On-campus courses will continue to be offered on the CCC Maquoketa campus, which will remain open. Live Online and fully Online courses are not affected by this decision and will be delivered as scheduled. Scott Community College and Muscatine Community College will be offering on-campus classes as scheduled.

These are complicated decisions that are made based upon multiple factors, which include but are not limited to the following:

  • Current 14-day average COVID-19 positive test rate in the county in which a facility is located and/or primarily serves
  • Current 14-day average of new COVID-19 positive cases in the county in which a facility is located and/or primarily serves
  • Current number of positive cases among employees and students at the facility
  • If applicable, student and/or employee absentee rate
  • Status of area K-12 school districts served
  • Guidance and advice from local public health officials
  • Other mitigating conditions on campus and/or in the community (e.g. functioning of public utilities, public safety conditions, weather events, etc.)

These factors will also be considered in returning to on-campus class instruction on the CCC Main campus. The EICC’s COVID-19 response plan, information and resources can be found at

Please continue to stay safe and follow our health and safety guidelines – stay home if you are ill, wear a face mask, practice social distancing, wash hands and sanitize surfaces often.
