Lorene got her first job in higher education as a work-study at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, IA. A work-study job eventually turned into a part-time job and then a full-time job. As a student who did not know what they wanted to do after graduating high school, the community college was a great way to explore new subject areas.
Lorene eventually found her way back to the QC area and was fortunate enough to get a job in higher education again with Scott Community College. Lorene loves working with students and helping them navigate their way through college. As a previous online student herself, she knows the challenges but many rewards of taking online classes and juggling work, school, and home life.
When Lorene is not serving students as an advisor, she loves to spend time with her family; she has a husband, two sons, and two cats.
