Evening College Assistant

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges - Scott Community College is seeking a FT Evening College Assistant- Belmont Campus. Schedule M-F 1p.-9:30p -  F-9:30a-6p -  Saturday’s as needed.

The Eastern Iowa Community Colleges has rapidly become the first choice for students seeking higher education in the Eastern Iowa region.  Located along the banks of the mighty Mississippi River, EICC is a comprehensive community college with three colleges and 10 satellite locations serving more than 13,000 credit and 30,000 workforce and continuing education students each year.  

Under the direction of the Dean of Operation this position will be responsible for:

  • Assist with the safety, security, and well-being of all evening college students, employees and property
  • Assist with general supervision during evening hours of all college facilities and equipment in accordance with adopted policies and procedures.
  • Assist with resolving evening college room and class schedule conflicts
  • Maintain multi-media program for evening college faculty.
  • Responsible for securing buildings after all students have left. Escort students to parking areas as needed.
  • Assist in receiving and providing for the safety of all evening college monies collected.
  • Assist with the management of building security systems.

Qualifications will include:

  • Associates degree preferred. H.S. graduate or equivalent is required.
  • Previous experience in building security preferred.
  • Must have excellent computer skills.
  • Must have the ability to spend 50% of time physically walking and monitoring the campus.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and confidential information in a complex setting.
  • Must have the ability to work with a diverse student population, staff, and external constituents.
  • Successful candidate must possess exceptional communication skills both verbal and written.
