This is a summary of the requirements for an Associate in Arts (AA) degree with a Business Administration/Accounting concentration, for students planning to transfer to Western Illinois University. The AA degree requires completion of both the general education curriculum and electives for a total of 62 semester hours.
Students should choose the recommended courses from the EICCD General Education curriculum, and complete their AA degree by selecting courses that fulfill requirements for the College of Business. Any remaining electives should be selected from those that have an exact course equivalent at Western Illinois University and is required or recommended for their major.

Admission
WIU-Macomb: Transfer students may be admitted with 24 semester hours and a 2.0 GPA or with fewer than 24 semester hours as long as students meet the freshmen admission standards, have at least a combined 2.0 GPA for all college work attempted from all institutions attended and are in good standing at the last college attended.
WIU-QC: Transfer students must have earned 60 or more semester hours of college work with at least a combined 2.0 GPA for all hours attempted from all institutions attended and are in good standing at the last college attended.
General Education
Students who have completed an AA or AS degree will have met the WIU general education requirements and have junior standing. Students who do not complete an AA or AS degree should complete general education courses from WIU's approved list and have a grade of "C" or better in both English composition courses. Foreign Language
Western Illinois University requires no foreign language for graduation.
Graduation Requirement
Students must successfully complete the Illinois constitution test if not an Illinois high school graduate and complete 60 semester hours at a four-year institution that includes 40 semester hours of upper division course work and 30 semester hours at Western.

Bachelor of Business Requirement
To be one of the eight Bachelor of Business majors and enroll in upper division Business courses at either the Macomb or Quad Cities campus, students must have completed 60 semester hours with a 2.5 GPA. Courses that must be completed include WIU’s Acct 201 and 202, DS 203, Econ 231, and 232, and Math 137 and 138 or 139 with a 2.5 GPA.
Students who do not have these requirements completed will be considered Pre-Business majors. Pre-Business majors are allowed to enroll in 300/400 level business courses as long as student has 60 hours of credit and a 2.5 GPA.

#Grade of C or better required for accounting majors. The sequence should be completed at one school.
+MAT156 will be substituted for DS 203 through Summer 2008. The College of Business Curriculum Committee is reviewing the substitution practice and all current DS 203 equivalents during the 07-08 school year.
**Complete if course work is needed in elective category (8) to total 62 hours for AA degree. BUS185 is required for Accounting, Human Resource Management, and Management majors (It will count as lower division courses).
##Will be a prerequisite of new CS 302 which is required by all majors except Information Mgt.
***Grade of “C” or better is required if AA degree is not completed.
