This is a summary of the requirements for an Associate in Arts (AA) degree with an Education concentration, for students planning to transfer to St. Ambrose University. The AA degree requires completion of both the general education curriculum and electives for a total of 62 semester hours.
Students should choose the recommended courses from the EICCD General Education curriculum, and complete their AA degree by selecting courses that fulfill requirements of St. Ambrose University. Any remaining electives should be selected from those that have an exact course equivalent at St. Ambrose University that is required or recommended for their major.

Admission
Transfer admission to St. Ambrose University requires a minimum of 12 college transferable credits and a minimum GPA of 2.00. Students completing their A.A. or A.S. degree can satisfy SAU's Health and Physical Education (HPE) requirement by taking Intro to Wellness and a PE activity course. Students transferring will need to complete an Information Literacy and one Philosophy and Theology course at SAU. All other SAU general education requirements will be satisfied.
Students should create a portfolio consisting of all education related coursework. This portfolio will be required by the transfer institution for upper division coursework. Please consult with your transfer institution for further details regarding appropriate materials to include.
Foreign Language
Students must have completed either three years in high school or three semesters in college, but are not required to complete all semesters in the same language.
