This is a summary of the requirements for an Assoicate in Arts (AA) degree with a Pre-Chiropractic concentration, for students planning to transfer to Palmer College of Chiropractic. The AA degree requires completion of both the general education curriculum and electives for a total of 62 semester hours. An additional 30 hours of upper level coursework identified by Palmer is required (for a total of 92 semester hours) to enter the Doctor of Chiropractic Program.
 
Students should chose the recommended courses from the EICCD General Education curriculum, and complete their AA degree by selecting courses from those that are required or recommended for their major.

*  The student's Palmer Admissions Representative must approve all courses. 
 
Ninety semester hours are required to enter Palmer College of Chiropractic’s D.C. program. Of those ninety hours the following pre-professional credits must be earned with a grade of "C" or above. Please select your courses under the direction of the Palmer admissions department and the Pre-Chiropractic academic advisor at your campus.
 
Each Palmer applicant is evaluated on overall academic performance, science courses performance and the total number of hours of college credit completed. All post-secondary pre-professional education must be included in the cumulative grade point average. The average must be at least 2.50 on a 4.0 scale. If certain courses have been repeated with equivalent courses at the same institution, the higher grade(s) may be used for grade point average computation and the other grade(s) may be disregarded. Students are strongly encouraged to have their "official transcripts" sent to Palmer to be evaluated and their grade point average calculated.

There is "one" grade per course (the lectures and labs are not separated.)

NOTE: it is only possible to take BIO:114 and BI0:157 or BI:111.

Transfer Student to EICCD: * If a student has completed a three credit hour biology course from another college -- one four credit hour biology course from EICCD will complete the Palmer biology requirement -- as long as both classes include a lab and do not duplicate the same material.

NOTE: The PHY:110 and PHY:111 are both taken during one semester, one trimester or one summer session.

NOTE: The classes PHY:162 and PHY:172 are each a full semester course

Transfer Students to EICCD - The student must verify with their Palmer representative to confirm if one of these combinations will be acceptable:

Statistics  or Biomechanics or Kinesiology or Exercise Physiology  + PHY 162 or PHY 172 or PHY 110 or PHY 111  (at EICCD)

NOTE: To take the Chemistry and Physics classes a student must be at a math level above intermediate algebra. The student can meet this requirement by one of four methods.

1. Test above "intermediate algebra" on the EICCD assessment exam called the COMPASS
2. Have "ACT" scores within the last five years that shows the student to have tested above intermediate algebra
3. Complete successfully an intermediate algebra class at EICCD or another college
4. Complete successfully a math course that is above intermediate algebra (i.e. college algebra, finite math or statistics)
