Academic Achievement Coordinator

Kathy Trosen is located in the Student Center, 288-6013. This program will provide support for any student experiencing barriers to academic success. These barriers could include (but are not limited to) physical or learning disabilities, reading, math, spelling, writing or study problems. The main focus is student advocacy.

If you have a documented disability, you may apply for accommodations by bringing that documentation to Kathy and discussing your needs with her. If you were in Special Education or Resources Room classes in high school she may also be able to help you with improving your study skills.

Study Skills Classes/Career Decision Making

MCC offers classes to help students develop study skills and strategies for their success. Master Student is a two credit hour class and College Success is for one credit hour. Both classes help students with time management, notetaking, test taking, goal setting, identifying learning styles and becoming familiar with resources on campus.

Career Decision Making is a one-hour class that helps students explore occupations to find a fit with their interests and skills as well as help them prepare a resume.
