This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post secondary educational facility. You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible. Alcoa Employees & Community Credit Union Scholarships

One scholarship is for high school juniors and seniors planning to enter college. One scholarship is for members age 19 or over, considered non-traditional-aged or continuing education students.

The high school scholarship is open to any high school student classified as either a junior or senior. The non-traditional scholarship will be awarded to a member age 19 years or older entering an accredited undergraduate, graduate, or vocational program.

Entrants must have an account established in their own name and be "Members in Good Standing" at Alcoa Employees & Community Credit Union.
Alcoa Employees & Community Credit Union directors, employees, and their family members are ineligible to participate in the scholarship competition.

American Association of University Women

The Clinton Branch is awarding scholoarships as part of their ongoing commitment to women's higher education. Applicants must be graduates of high schools in Camanche, Clinton, Fulton, or Goose Lake, and should be planning to graduate from a four year college or university. American Business Women's Association Scholarship (ABWA)

Scholarships are open to any student, male or female, who will be a attending a post-secondary institution for the 2007-2008 school year. These scholarships are not limited to those pursuing a degree in Business, but are open to those enrolled in any course of study in a higher education setting. American Chemical Society Scholarship
February deadline
The American Chemical Society Scholars Program is designed to encourage African-American, Hispanic and American Indian Students to pursue undergraduate college degrees in the chemical sciences. Students intending to major in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering are encouraged to apply. Applications are available at ACS Scholarship.

American Legion of Iowa Foundation Scholarship
April deadline
In addition to the Legion's concern for disabled veterans, the Legion pledges to be of service to our community, state, and nation. Award monies are given for a research project or equipment requested by an individual and awarded to an institution for one year. Renewal applications are accepted. American Society for Industrial Security Scholarship
October deadline
Applicants must be either a full-time or part-time student and have completed one year of study at a recognized college, university or community college, declared criminology, criminal justice major or related professional security program, gpa 3.0 (4.0 scale) is required for graduate students. Undergraduate gpa requirement set by local ASIS chapter, minimum credit hours: 15 hours in criminology, criminal justice or related professional security program, related work or intern experiences a plus. Candidates will submit an application form and an official grade transcript, an institutional validation of program enrollment in a fully accredited college, university or community college, and a recommendation from a faculty member. Angelfire Scholarship

One of the Datatel scholarships (see the Datatel listing). This scholarship is available to students currently attending a Datatel client institution who are veterans of the Vietnam War, spouses or children of Vietnam veterans, or refugees from Vietnam, Laos, or Cambodia during the 1964-1975 timeframe. APPMA Jules Schwimmer Scholarship Program
April deadline
Those eligible to apply are high school seniors, college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who are the dependent sons and daughters (including adopted and stepchildren) of full-time employees of APPMA member firms world wide. The parent must have been employed by an APPMA member firm for at least one year as of January 1 of the year in which the scholarship is awarded. NOTE: The parents of applicants must still be employed by an APPMA member firm at the time the winners are selected in May.

Each applicant must have been a matched little brother or little sister in an affiliated Big Brothers Big Sisters program for at least one year. The match need not be current. Candidates will be selected based on a vision for the future, volunteer work, community involvement, academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Army Emergency Relief
Major General James Ursano Scholarship Fund
March deadline
Print application (Nov. 1st-Feb. 20th or apply online at www.aerhg.org/ Nov. 1st-March 1st.) Applicants must be dependent children, stepchildren or legally adopted children of army soldiers on active duty, retired or deceased while on active duty or after retirement. The children of grey area reservists are also eligible, who are unmarried for the entire academic year, under the age of 22 on May 1, 2005 based on the 2005-6 academic year.

Applicants must be enrolled, accepted, or pending acceptance as full-time dependent students for the entire academic year in accredited post-secondary schools and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. Awards based on financial need and evidenced by income, family size and special financial obligations.

Association for Women in Sports Media Scholarships
October deadline
This program is open to women who are enrolled in college or graduate school full time and plan to pursue a career in sports writing, sports copy editing, sports broadcasting, or sports public relations. Entrants are required to submit a letter explaining why they are interested in a career in sports journalism, a resume highlighting their journalism experience, a letter of recommendation, up to 5 samples of their work, and a $5 application fee. Up to $5,000 per year is awarded for study abroad programs. Business & Professional Women's Scholarship (Iowa)
March deadline
Applicant must be a resident of Iowa, a non-traditional student and has completed at least one (1) year in an institution of higher learning with satisfactory scholastic standing. Applicant must be a United States citizen, out of the workforce and wants or needs to go back to work, but needs additional education, has completed high school five or more years ago and now wants to start or resume their college education, demonstrates financial need, scholastic ability, leadership skills and career goals. The applicant does not need to be a member of Business and Professional Women of Iowa. In addition to the formal application, the applicant must attach a copy of her (his) transcripts along with three letters of reference as to their character and need for this scholarship. Career Advancement Scholarships

Applicants must be women who are at least 25 years of age, citizens of the United States, within 2 years of completing their course of study, officially accepted into an accredited program or course of study at an American institution, in financial need, and planning to use the desired training to improve their chances for advancement, train for a new career field, or enter/re-enter the job market. They must be in a transitional period in their lives and be interested in studying one of the following fields: biological sciences, business studies, computer science, engineering, humanities, mathematics, paralegal studies, physical sciences, social science, teacher education certification, or for a professional degree (J.D., D.D.S., M.D.). Careers In Agriculture Scholarship Program

Sponsored by Agriliance, Croplan Genetics and Land O'Lakes Farmland Feed. Awards $1,000 scholarships to 50 high school seniors interested in livestock or agronomy-related studies. Applicant must be a high school senior planning to enroll in a two-or-four-year livestock or agronomy-related curriculum in the fall following high school graduation; demonstrate leadership and academic performance; and write an essay describing why he or she is interested in an agricultural career. The Carver Scholarship Program provides significant financial aid for selected Iowa students already attending, or planning to transfer from a community college or two-year private college as a junior, to one of the three regents universities or one of the 24, four-year private colleges under the membership of the Iowa College Foundation within the state of Iowa. Community College Alliance Online Learning Scholarship
The applicant must currently attend or have attended a partnering community college (MCC), must have taken at least one distance education class at a partnering community college, must submit the scholarship application by the published deadlines, must have a minimum average 2.5 cumulative GPA from all previous colleges or universities attended, academic transcripts from current and other colleges must be attached to the application and must submit a typed essay with application describing how distance education has positively affected your life. Datatel Scholars Foundation Scholarships

Application and references are accepted online only at http://www.datatel.com/dsf/. This scholarship is awarded to students currently attending a Datatel client institution with six or more credit hours. Clinton, Muscatine and Scott Community Colleges students are eligible for this scholarship. Eagle Scholarship Fund

Applicant must be self-identifying gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered undergraduate person, have demonstrated a significant interest in educating the public about issues that surround gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered sexual/affectional orientation, have worked to eliminate prejudice and discrimination directed at gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered persons and who actively promote and defend the human and civil rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered persons.

Excellence in Education
March deadline
Muscatine community schools student scholarships are awarded to 20 seniors with $2,000 and 10 eighth grade students with $1,000 scholarships to be used at the academic institution of their choice after they graduate. Selection is based on the student's eligibility and potential, as demonstrated through the application and the letters of recommendation. a committee of teachers and community members will select the recipients. Community members, including teachers, administrators and parents may make nominations. All nominations must be accompanied by at least one letter of support from a school employee.

Muscatine community schools professional awards for support staff recognizes school employees who have demonstrated excellence within their profession with one $500 excellence award. This category includes transportation, food service, clerical, maintenance, secretarial and custodial employees. Nominations may be made by community members, including teachers, administrators and students.

Family Involvement Board Scholarships

Scholarships for both traditional and non-traditional students are available for 1) a scholarship program for high school students planning to enter college and 2) a scholarship for non-traditional-aged and continuing education students. The high school scholarship will award a first place prize of $1,500; second place $1,000; third place, $750 and fourth place $500. The non-traditional scholarship category will award two $1,000 scholarships.

The high school scholarship is open to any high school student classified as either a junior or senior. The non-traditional scholarship is open to any person who is entering or attending an accredited undergraduate, graduate or vocational program. Entrants must have an account established in his, or her, own name and be a member in good standing at a credit union that is a member of the Iowa Credit Union League.

Fejervary Trust Scholarship
The Fejervary Trust Scholarship is awarded to a high school senior, trade school student or college student who will be attending (or is currently attending) a college or trade school and majoring in an agricultural field of study. The applicant must be a resident of Scott County, Iowa. The scholarship award will be up to $3,000 per year and can be received for a maximum of four years. Contact the Fejervary Trust, P.O. Four scholarships worth $1,500 each will be awarded in April to college undergraduates for the quad city area who are enrolled in pre-medical or equivalent biology-based preparatory programs for entrance into medical school. Hispanic College Fund Scholarships

Students applying may be transferring to any U.S. accredited four-year institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam in fall of 2007 or spring of 2008. The applicant must be an undergraduate student who is planning to enter the physical education, health, recreation or dance profession. Applicant must be of at least a sophomore standing, enrolled in an Iowa college or university and have a current GPA of at least 2.5. The student should be involved in student activities and professional organizations.

IBM Research Internship For Undergraduate Women

This program is open to women who are college sophomores or juniors majoring in chemical engineering, chemistry, computer science or engineering, electrical engineering, or physics. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and a willingness to accept a summer internship at an IBM research facility in Austin, Texas; Yorktown Heights, New York; or San Jose, California. They must submit a 250-word essay describing their interest in research and how this opportunity will advance their career goals.

Purpose of the program is to reduce the shortage of clinical care nurses and improve access to clinical care nursing services in rural Iowa. Only applications who will be entering their second (or greater) year in their course of study will be considered.

Iowa Foster Child Grant
April deadline
Eligible applicants must be in Iowa foster care under the care and custody of the Iowa Department of Human Services on your 18th birthday or when you graduate from high school, be scheduled to graduate from an Iowa high school during the application year, have a minimum CGPA of 2.25, apply for admissions at an accredited Iowa college or university, complete the FAFSA on or before the application deadline, agree not to use any federal student loan program to finance your first year of college or university expenses, provide copies of all semester final grades to the Iowa College Student Aid Commission and agree to maintain at least monthly contacts with assigned DHS Transition Planning Specialists or as required by the Iowa Student Aid Commission. www.iowacollegeaid.org/commissioncentral/schgrants/

Iowa Park And Recreation Association Scholarships
Deadline is March 1ST.
The J. Nevin Nichols Scholarship is available to students not employed as full-time parks and recreation practitioners.
The MUSCO/Outdoor Recreation Products Scholarshipis open to both the full-time student and/or practitioner for the pursuance of under-graduate or graduate study in the field of parks and recreation.
The Iowa Amateur Softball Association Scholarship is available to students not employed as full-time parks and recreation practitioners.
The IPRA Membership Scholarship is available to students not employed as full-time parks and recreation practitioners.
The Foundation for Iowa Parks and Recreation Scholarship is open to both the full-time student and/or practitioner for the pursuance of undergraduate or graduate study in the field of parks and recreation.
The Kathryn Krieg Membership Sholarship is available to students not employed as full-time parks and recreation practitioners. In order to receive the scholarship, the recipient is asked to attend the IPRA Awards Banquet held in conjunction with the Spring Conference.
Note on eligibility of scholarship recipients: students applying for the scholarship must, 1) complete an official IPRA scholarship application form, 2) have a minimum of one semester or summer term left to complete when the scholarships are awarded, and 3) be a current member of the Iowa Park and Recreation Association. www.iowaparkandrecreation.org/

The Iowa Schools Buildings & Grounds Association (ISBGA) seeks to assist students to continue their education by offering scholarships to accredited secondary education Iowa colleges.
