June 5 Info Session
Warm weather and sunshine is finally here. Schools are finishing up for the summer.
Now is the time to think about what comes next.
Fall classes at Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC) won’t begin until August 25 but now is when people should be making their plans for the next step in their education and careers.
To help people make an informed decision, EICC, which includes Clinton, Muscatine and Scott Community Colleges is hosting a June 5 Learn More/Earn More event where interested students can learn how they can get the education they need to get ahead.
The event begins at 6 p.m. and will be held at the three colleges. It is open to everyone. EICC has become the first choice for both students just graduating from high school as well as those who have been out of school for several years and are now returning.
Several representatives from the college will be on hand at each location to discuss academic programs, career training, financial aid and the admissions process.
EICC offers a wide variety of programs designed specifically to help students get ahead in today’s world. These include a college transfer program for students interested in completing a bachelor’s degree or beyond, and more than 50 career programs for those who want to enter directly into the job market.
The career programs range from a single semester in length to the full two-year Associate in Arts degree. In addition, the colleges offer a number of short continuing education classes often lasting only one or two nights that can help people brush up on specific skills.
The college continues to make a college or technical education affordable with a tuition that is less than half that charged by private colleges. Students also have a number of grant, loan and scholarship options available to them.
