CCC Maquoketa Center Open House
Clinton Community College’s Maquoketa Center offers a wide range of both college credit and short-term continuing education classes.
To help people learn more about exactly what is available, the center will be hosting
an August 6 open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Clinton Community College is one of the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges. The Maquoketa Center opened just five years ago next to Maquoketa High School at 501 W. Washington Street. It has since added a manufacturing center through a partnership with the Maquoketa Community Schools.
The 11,000-square-foot building houses two state-of-the-art computer labs, a large meeting room, four classrooms and additional learning space. It’s also home for Iow@Work staff.
The open house will include tours of the building. Staff will be available to answer questions about classes, financial aid, registration and anything else someone might want to know.
Students can earn their Associate in Arts Degree entirely through classes in Maquoketa. A total of 19 college credit classes is being offered this fall.
Students interested in short-term training or just taking a class for fun can take a look at the many continuing education classes at the center. These classes are often just a single day or night.
The college and school district also work together to provide college level classes at the center for current high school students. Students earn college credit they then transfer to their college of choice once the graduate from high school.
