Advanced Manufacturing Career Fair

Student practicing welding in a labThe Blong Technology Center is hosting an upcoming Career Fair for Advanced Manufacturing, we’re hoping to connect you with the job opportunity or skills training you are looking for! The Career Fair is taking place on Tuesday, April 29 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Blong Technology Center, located at 8500 Hillandale Road – Northwest Davenport (near Farm and Fleet).

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges train students in high-demand areas such as production welding, CNC machining, mechanical design/drafting, engineering technology, truck driving, logistics, robotics – even renewable energy. Area industries have found our students and graduates have the skills they’re looking for. That’s why a number of them are joining us for a Career Fair. You can visit with area employers about current openings AND learn more about the advanced manufacturing jobs skills training available at our colleges. The event is FREE and open to the community!

There will be representatives present from Bee Line, John Deere, HNI HON Allsteel, Guardian, Heinz, Team Staffing Solutions, Elliot Aviation, Ryerson, SMS Millcraft, Monsanto, Rockwell Collins, Norfolk Iron & Metal, Evans Premium Manufacturing, Dohrn, Vizient, Schebler, Temporary Resources Inc, Raymond, Zachry and Uniparts Group.

Bring your resume and be prepared to talk with company representatives. A number of those who attended this fair in the fall did receive job offers!

The Blong Technology Center is also hosting Career Fair Success Workshops on Thursday, April 17 at 2 p.m. and on Monday, April 28 at 11 a.m. Both workshops will take place in the BTC Computer Lab. Workshop participants will learn how to build a resume, tips for attending a career fair and receive individual career fair advice.
