MCC's BPA Locks of Love Raffle
The Muscatine Community College (MCC) Business Professionals of America (BPA) students are raising money and recruiting people to donate their hair (10 inch minimum) to Locks of Love.
Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially
disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada. Hairpiece recipients are under
age 21 and suffer from long-term medical hair loss. This year, MCC has a BPA member
that is a cancer survivor and was a hairpiece recipient as a child.
To raise money, the BPA's Locks of Love Committee has put together items (theme baskets and bags) to be raffled. Items are now on display in the library; tickets may be purchased there too. One ticket costs $2 and three tickets cost $5. Drawings for items will take place at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11.
If anyone is interested in donating their hair, please contact Angela Henning via e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or at 563-288-6045 to get all of the details. So far, five people from the MCC community have agreed to cut their hair for this cause!
