CCC welcomes Kit Evans

Kit EvansClinton Community College, one of the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, in conjunction with Ashford University and the Clinton Franciscans will present Kit Evans on February 12 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Kit Evans, a nonviolence trainer with Pace e Bene and former trainer with the National Association of Students Against Violence Everywhere, is a woman who is passionate about nonviolence, God, and serving others. She has been a trainer and activist for 12 years working relentlessly in the areas of nonviolence education, violence prevention, special education, women’s rights, rape crisis intervention, HIV and AIDS awareness, and assisting people in healing from violence and abuse.

In May of 2008, Kit became a survivor of an extremely violent sexual assault on her life. After surviving the attack, she became more driven to promote the power of nonviolent social change.

She will appear at 2 p,m, at Clinton Community College and at 6 p.m. in the Mullany Theater at Ashford University. Both events are free and open to the public.
