EICC to host Senior registration days

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC) are offering high school seniors a chance to get their fall college registration out of the way and a chance at winning a Barnes and Noble Nook eReader as well.

EICC will be hosting High School Senior Registration days at Clinton, Muscatine and Scott Community Colleges on May 2 and 17. The sessions will be held from 3 – 6 p.m. on both days.

With high school graduation ceremonies just a few weeks away, now is a great time for seniors to make that next step in their education. Admissions staff, financial aid officers and academic advisors will all be on hand to streamline the process and answer any questions students have about preparing for their futures.

To register, students can give the college they plan to attend a call:

Clinton Community College
1000 Lincoln Boulevard, Clinton
563-244-7000

Muscatine Community College
152 Colorado Street, Muscatine
563-288-6000

Scott Community College
500 Belmont Road, Davenport
563-441-4000

Students should bring a copy of their high school transcripts and those who have taken the ACT should bring their scores. Those who have not taken the test can contact the college in advance to complete the COMPASS test prior to this event.

Parents are also welcome to accompany their son or daughter.

Clinton, Muscatine and Scott Community Colleges have set record enrollments the past two years with roughly 9,000 students currently attending the three colleges.

To succeed today students need more than a high school education. The colleges offer both a college transfer program for those planning on continuing their education at a four-year university or college, as well as a wide variety of career programs that lead directly into the job market. The career programs can be as short as just one semester in length to a full two-year degree.

In addition, tuition at the three colleges is the lowest in the state of Iowa, thousands less than the state universities, private colleges and technical institutes.

The colleges deliver classes at their three main campuses as well as several satellite centers including Maquoketa, Wilton and several Davenport locations. They also offer a full online learning program leading to an Associate in Arts Degree.

For more information contact the colleges at the numbers above or toll free 1-888-336-3907.
