EICC and WIU Partnership make it possible to earn your Bachelor's
The opening of Western Illinois University’s new Quad Cities campus and a unique partnership with Eastern Iowa Community Colleges make it possible for students to earn their Bachelor’s Degree in the Quad Cities via the two institutions.
Interested students can learn how it all works during the upcoming October 21 information session hosted by the colleges. The session will be held from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. with students provided a first-hand look at both the Scott Community College, one of the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC), campus in Bettendorf and the Western Illinois University (WIU) campus in Moline
The EICC/WIU program provides several advantages for local students including reduced travel, the community colleges’ already affordable tuition rate, and WIU is allowing Iowa residents from this area to pay in-state tuition. The information session is designed to answer any questions students have about the program or classes at either EICC or WIU.
Eastern Iowa Community Colleges includes Scott Community College as well as Clinton and Muscatine Community Colleges. Students in the program complete their Associate in Arts Degree at one of the EICC colleges and their credits are automatically transferred to WIU.
Almost all of WIU’s bachelor’s degrees are included in the partnership. Special degrees are also offered including Engineering, Elementary Education, Early Childhood, Engineering Tech, Law Enforcement, and Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration.
In addition to touring the college campuses students will stop by the Villas apartments, located roughly a mile from Scott Community College. Students looking for housing can live there for their first two years while attending Scott, or their entire four years attending both Scott and WIU.
