A pair of local singers and Scott Community College (SCC) students will be performing next Tuesday, November 15, at the college.
Bailey Kakert and Angela Meyer will be appearing in the college’s cafeteria from 7 – 9 p.m. The performance is free of charge and the public is welcome to attend. Their appearance is sponsored by the college’s Fine Arts Committee.
The duo will perform original songs as well as covers of such popular country singers as Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.
Kakert and Meyer are both Scott Community College freshmen and play the guitar in addition to singing.
Kakert is currently performing in two local bands, the cover band ShakeSass and an original band, There. She said she “practically came out of the womb singing” and that her biggest satisfaction comes from her songwriting.
Meyer’s goal is to become a professional musician. She has been playing the guitar and writing her own songs for the last three years. A preview of her music can be seen and heard at youtube.com/angelacmeyer
