SCC welcomes Master Chef Roland Henin

Scott Community College's Culinary Department was paid a surprise visit on Wednesday by master chef Roland Henin. Chef Henin is one of only 60 master chefs in the country. He is currently corporate chef of Delaware North Companies, owner of Jumer's Casino in Rock Island.

Chef Henin was educated at the College Moderne in Nancy, France. Prior to his current position he worked for many years as a culinary teacher. He has taught and served as mentor for many of the country's most famous chefs including Thomas Keller.

During his visit to the college he was joined by Chef Chris Matta, Deleware North's regional chef, and Chef Jessica Barnes, executive chef at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.
