CCC Cougar Volleyball Players Earn Accolades

The Clinton Community College (CCC) Volleyball Team had numerous individuals receive post season honors for a successful 2011 volleyball season.
CCC Cougars Haley Gruhn, Delaney Blakely, Ashley Swanson and Mandi White all received post season honors for their outstanding performances in 2011.
Former Clinton High School Standout Haley Gruhn was selected All-Regional Tournament Team, 1st Team All-Region, 2nd Team All-Conference and received a nomination for All-American in addition to being selected to the All-Tournament team at Black Hawk earlier in the season.
Haley played in 135 games, had 386 kills, had 964 attempts, 8 assists, 86 blocks, 14 service aces and had 159 total digs. Haley’s 386 kills was good for 7th in the ICCAC (Iowa Community College Athletic Conference); her .301 hitting percentage ranked her 10th; 2.9 kills/set also ranked her 7th, and was 17th in total blocks in the conference.
In addition, Clinton Community College, on the the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, also had 3 Honorable mention All-Conference selections, Delaney Blakely, Ashley Swanson and Mandi White.
Delaney had 258 kills, 881 attempts, was 451-499 (90.4%) with 42 service aces and 533 digs.
Ashley Swanson led the Cougars with 1011 assists, good for 5th in the conference, 7.4 assists per game, good for 4th, 496-552 (89.9%) with 49 aces; good for 9th in the conference and 292 digs.
Mandi led the Cougars, and the ICCAC with 744 total digs, 5.4 per game (which also led the ICCAC), 394-431 (91.4%) with 38 service aces for a Cougars team that improved from a 2 win 2010 campaign to winning 22 games in 2011.
The Cougars were highlighted with 3 wins over ranked opponents as well as qualifying for the regional tournament in 2011.
