CCC hosts Visiting Artists
Clinton Community College (CCC), one of the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges, is pleased to announce upcoming performances for the 2011-12 Visiting Artist season. This is the 38th year that CCC has offered these performances for the community as part of the Quad Cities Arts, a program that strives to make the program accessible to people of all walks of life, including students, seniors, and working people. Performances will be held in both Clinton and in Maquoketa throughout the year.

Calder Quartet
October 19, 2011 – CCC Technology Center, 1951 Manufacturing Drive, Clinton - 7 p.m.
The Calder Quartet continues to expand its unique array of projects by performing traditional quartet repertoire as well as partnerships with innovative modern composers, emerging musicians, and performers across genres. The group was awarded the 2009 ASCAP Adventurous Programming Award in recognition of its exciting programming and collaborations.
As quartet-in-residence at the Colburn Conservatory in Los Angeles, the Calder performs twice yearly at Zipper Hall. Season highlights include upcoming performances at the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, at New Haven’s International Festival of Arts and Ideas, at Disney Hall at part of the Green Umbrella Series, and in concert with Grammy-winning pianist Gloria Cheng at the Orange County Performing Arts Center.
Rioult
January 23, 2012 - CCC Maquoketa Center, 501 West Washington, Maquoketa - 7 p.m.
RIOULT was founded in 1994 and fast became an established name in modern dance with a reputation for creating and presenting the sensual, articulate, and exquisitely musical works of Pascal Rioult. Born in to the American modern dance tradition, RIOULT is creating its own legacy of contemporary dance that speaks to the mind and heart.
Education and community outreach have been integral to RIOULT since its inception. RIOULT’s arts-in-education program Learning Through Movement offers an interactive approach that introduces students to the world of modern dance. It has impacted thousands of students and community members around the world.
Since the Visiting Artist Series began as an arts outreach program in 1973, the program has become one of the most ambitious of its kind in the country. The program presents the performances at no cost to the public. The performance begins at 7:00 p.m. and will be held at the Clinton Community College Technology Center (formerly Graphic Arts Technology Center), 1951 Manufacturing Drive, Clinton or in Maquoketa at the CCC Maquoketa Center, 501 West Washington Street.
