2012 CCC B-rrry Scurry Race Results
Unseasonably warm temperatures greeted 764 runners and walkers who enjoyed the 31st annual Clinton Community College B-rrry Scurry 4-mile road race.
Winner of the female division was Jen Paul of LeClaire in a time of 25:41. Jessica Langford of Chicago holds the B-rrry Scurry record of 23:21set in 2009. Tyler Sullivan of Coralville won the male division winner in a time of 21.06. Bryan Glass of Geneseo holds the record of 20:15.
The B-rrry Scurry continued as “one of the best races in the Midwest” thanks to the commitment of more than 100 volunteers. “Our volunteers keep the participants safe and happy,” raved Race Director Ann Eisenman. She also complimented the Clinton Police and Sherriff’s Reserves for assisting throughout the race route which winds through historic neighborhoods in Clinton. “Clinton Community College is a great host for this annual event. Many staff members volunteer year after year. Many people make this a great community event.”
The B-rrry Scurry record for coldest temperature was set in 1996, when the mercury dipped to 15 degrees below zero, with wind chill at 55 degrees F below zero.
In addition to the age-group awards, B-rrry Scurry also hosts a B-rrry Challenge to all businesses and organizations. The winners are determined by the number of people the respective organization has entered in the race. Winner of the Large Group (over 150 members) award was The Swiss Colony. In the Small Group Challenge (less than 150 members), the winner was the Rock River Road Runners.

The 2012 Volunteer of the Year is Bea Burden. Bea serves as a B-rrry Scurry Volunteer in the T-shirt Distribution area. She trains the new people that serve with her each year. She brings experience, organization and a great B-rrry Scurry attitude to the race. Bea is one of our many volunteers responsible for making the B-rrry Scurry one of the best little races in the Midwest!
The Swiss Colony is the 2012 Sponsor of the Year. Swiss Colony came onboard as a sponsor because their employees participated as volunteers, runners and walkers. In 2009, their employee team won the B-rrry Scurry Challenge. Their number of runners and walkers grows each year plus, plus they provide great treats for our B-rrry Bistro. Linda Ray accepted the award for Swiss Colony.
