Learning Community to be offered at Muscatine Community College

Muscatine Community College is offering a great opportunity in the fall for students to meet other students, create a support network, improve skills needed to earn a college degree, and be involved in numerous enrichment activities. Lesa Hadley and Linda Mowl have designed a Learning Community for students who need three developmental education areas.

The classes will include Introduction to College Reading, Basic Writing, Basic Math, Strategies for Academic Success, and Getting Involved. Students in the Learning Community will take all of their classes together, and there is also a designated time for students to attend a tutoring lab twice a week to receive help with course work.

In addition to classes, students will be able to attend workshops and take educational trips. Classes begin at 8:30 a.m. and finish by 11:45 a.m., Monday through Thursday.

Don’t be discouraged from earning a college degree based on high school grades.

Contact the Advising Center, 563-288-6001, to learn more about the Learning Community. Space is limited. Advising and registration for fall classes begin April 14th.
