Muscatine Community College Agriculture students compete in Atlanta

Three students in the Feed and Fertilizer Marketing program at Muscatine Community College competed with 1,200 other students at the Delta Epsilon Chi (DEX) International Career development conference in Atlanta, Georgia March 12 – 15.

Eric Franje from New Sharoncompeted in the Entrepreneurship event, Brock Stover from Ottumwa competed in the Sales representative event and Josh Van Kooten competed in the Marketing Management event.

Marshall McDonald, Department coordinator of the Agribusiness and Technology programs at MCC said that even though the students didn’t win they learned a tremendous amount about the level of education and skill it takes to perform at top level in these events.

“I am very glad that our students put forth the effort to prepare and practice for these events and we have done very well in past conferences and will again in future conferences," McDonald said. "The DEX International conference will be in Anaheim, California, next year and I look forward to preparing students to participate and compete at that event.”
