MCC students name to 2008 All-Iowa Academic Team
Muscatine Community College students, Ereza Vejsa and Molly Garrett, are members of the 2008 All-Iowa Academic Team. The two were among 42 team members selected from the community colleges of Iowa.
The Academic Team was honored with a banquet on March 12 at the West Des Moines Marriott. Students named to the All-Iowa Academic Team have demonstrated academic excellence and shown intellectual rigor in their course of study. Most importantly, they have extended their community college education to better themselves, their schools and their communities.
After graduating from MCC, Vejsa, a student from Kosovo, plans to attend the University of Northern Iowa and major in Applied Mathematics. Past honors that she has received at MCC include the Robert M. Kaufmann Memorial Award, Honors Colloquium, Dean’s List, Student of the Month and Phi Theta Kappa Vice President.
Garrett intends to major in Information Science. Honors she has received while a student at MCC include Dean’s List, Honors Colloquium, Cedar County Historical Society Scholarship, Griffith Memorial Scholarship, Weeks Scholarship, HNI Corporation Scholarship and she is a member of Phi Theta Kappa.
