Diversity Committee to host Comparative Religions Forum
Our community is represented by many diverse populations. We have citizens of different ethnicity, various nationalities and many religions. A Comparative Religions Forum “Tolerance Through Understanding” will be held at Clinton Community College on Tuesday, April 22, 3:30 – 5 p.m. in the auditorium at 1000 Lincoln Blvd., Clinton.
The CCC International Cultural Diversity Committee, Staff Development Committee, Student Senate and Continuing Education department are hosting the event that will bring together representatives from four different religions.
Scheduled to attend will be Pastor Jim Machen of the Church of the Open Door, Pastor Elizabeth Ligget of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mohammad Asaadi of the Clinton Islamic Center, and Rabbi Henry Karp of the Temple Emmanuel, Bettendorf, Iowa. The panel members will share their faiths, discuss their commonalities and will answer audience questions about their faiths.
This event is open to the public and there is no cost for to attend the forum, but registration is requested by calling 563-244-7100 and requesting class #52981. Registration will be available at the door.
