Two CCC students selected for All-Iowa Academic Team
Clinton Community College was well represented recently at the All-Iowa Academic Team banquet in Des Moines. Two Clinton Community College students, Marcia Larson and Wendy Lind are among the 44 Iowa Community College students named to the 2008 All-Iowa Academic Team.
Larson and Lind were selected by the faculty at Clinton Community College in recognition of their academic excellence. Larson will continue her education at Western Illinois University where she will pursue a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies. Lind is a student in the CCC Nursing program.
“We are honored to have Marcia and Wendy represent us as the Clinton Community College recipients for the All-Iowa Academic Team," CCC Dean of the College Ron Serpliss said. "They are both excellent students in their academic fields as well as through their involvement on campus.”
The application process includes academics, campus involvement, community activities and discussion and essay questions. The Academic Team is sponsored by the American Association of Community Colleges, Phi Theta Kappa, and USA Today, and recognizes some of the best and brightest community college students across the United States.
All-State Team members are recognized and honored at a dinner held in their honor in Des Moines, receive media recognition, medallions and certificates, and the opportunity for special scholarships when they transfer to four year institutions.
