Wilkerson Teaches Computer Class at CAC
Jerry Wilkerson has been teaching an informational computer class at CAC this past April to introduce our advanced ESL students to opportunities in IT.  Jerry has done a fantastic job and as you can see by the attached photos the class has been very successful and most of these students are planning on transferring to SCC in the fall.  Jerry will be doing another class for us starting May 8. This class has given students another step towards advancing their education. Kevin Lucas and Wayne Cole will be meeting with those students from this class who are interested in going on to SCC this Friday to follow up.  Most Fridays at the center Kevin works with students to complete college applications, schedule COMPASS testing and helps them to go on line and complete the FAFSA.

During April, MidAmerican Energy customers in Iowa were eligible to puchase trees for $25 through a grant in conjunction with the Scott County Conservation Board.  SCC selected a native tree called the Serviceberry and planted it along the timber line on the edge of the prairie grass near one of the nature trail entrances.  Thanks for Mark Aronson and the Environmental Club for their help in choosing the tree and planting it.
