  Q.  Why should EICCD employees use the CPD Web site?

  A.  The CPD Web site is an online catalog of learning opportunities designed to enable all employees to participate in professional development activities.

Please visit the CPD often to view a regularly up-to-date list of learning opportunities.

  Q.  How do I register for a course or workshop on the CPD Web site?

  A.  For EICCD courses and workshops:

To register for a course or workshop complete the online registration form or call our Registration Center at (563) 441-4100.

    To complete registration, you need to provide:
            (1) class name and section number;
            (2) your demographic information;
            (3) method of payment.

    For NON-EICCD learning activities:

Visit with your supervisor to receive approval for course or workshop registration and determine method of payment.

  Q.  As a full-time employee, how do I pay registration fees for courses or workshops?

  A.  For EICCD courses and workshops:

Employee initiated learning activities are paid by the individual at time of registration.

In order to receive tuition reimbursement, you must (1) satisfactorily complete the course; and (2) submit a tuition reimbursement form to Human Resources at the District Office.

Supervisor directed learning activities are paid by a departmental purchase order at the time of registration.

  Q.  As a part-time employee, how do I pay registration fees for courses or workshops?

  A.  At this time, tuition reimbursement is only available for full-time employees. Therefore, all part-time employees must pay their own registration fees.

  Q.  If I am not sure that I will be reimbursed for a course or workshop expense, what should I do?

  A.  Visit with your supervisor for clarification.

  Q.  Are there limits on the number of employee initiated credits/hours that a person can take each semester?

  A.  Yes. Each person can take a maximum of 6 credit hours of instruction or 60 continuing education contact hours per semester.

  Q.  How do I document learning activities when no certificate is awarded?

  A.  To verify participation in learning activities, it's suggested that you keep a copy of the workshop announcement for your professional development records.

  Q.  How can I suggest a new course or workshop offering?
