Smoking Cessation Class -
The Smokefree Air Act went into effect on July 1, 2008.

You've decided it's time to quit smoking!
Quitting smoking is not easy, but you can do it. To have the best chance of quitting successfully and improving your health, you need to know what you’re up against, what your options are, and where to go for help. The one-session program is designed to teach adults strategies and to provide tips to help them quit smoking.

Objectives:
   1.  Discuss what is so good and bad about smoking
   2.  List the 6 step process of quitting
   3.  Discuss the Nicotine withdrawal symptoms
   4.  Discuss the medical and physical support options

Examining impacts food choices have on communities and our world - especially youth.

We'll look at:

  • Garden projects as teaching & learning activities
  • Ways young people use new media to advocate for healthier food
  • How food choices can bring positive change
  • Food trends and public policy
  • A conference for:

  • Teachers and student teachers
  • Health practitioners
  • Anyone who prepares, grows, eats food
  • Local economies & community development
  • Institutions concerned about healthy citizens in a healthy world
  • Kick-off Winter Farmers Market and Benefit Meals
    of Delicious Local and Regional Food
