   How to File a Complaint

• The Eastern Iowa Community College District promotes an environment free from discrimination and harassment and responds accordingly to hostile behavior. The District has adopted informal and formal processes through which discrimination and harassment complaints can be resolved.

• For claims of harassment or discrimination based on race, color, age, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, sex, marital status, disability, or status as a U.S. veteran, you may seek informal resolution or file a formal complaint. Both procedures are explained in the District's Discrimination and Harassment Policy.

• In addition, there are other college policies that identify and explain complaint resolution procedures in various settings.

  • Administrative/Professional Staff Handbook
  • Support Staff Handbook
  • Student Handbook

• If you would like assistance in determining whether to file a sexual harassment complaint or would like to discuss your options in more detail, contact the AA/EEO and Diversity Officer, who is trained to help you through this process.

• You may file a formal complaint with the Affirmative Action Officer, 306 West River Drive, Davenport, IA,  Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., or any time by appointment by calling 563-336-3300.

• If you wish to file a complaint with an external agency, see our Resource Links for addresses of those agencies.
