The Classroom Connections Team has been working together for about 18 months. During these 18 months we designed the structure of the team and the five cornerstones of the program. There will be two faculty from each campus. The length of service will be one faculty from each campus will serve two years and one will serve three years.

We held at least one informational session on each campus to explain the program and to hopefully elicit the same excitement the team experienced during the process.
The request for applicants to form the new team has gone out to all full time faculty. We hope to have the new team in place by the end of April.

North Lake College and Richland College in the Dallas District:
EICCD’s Classroom Connections Team Visit North Lake College and Richland College in Dallas, Texas!
On July 6 - 27, 2007, EICCD’s Classroom Connections Team had the opportunity to “benchmark” North Lake and Richland College’s Professional Development System. Throughout our two-day visit we had the opportunity to talk with faculty and staff about the “structure, learning activities and support for faculty development that is provided through the “Wildfire Institute” at North Lake and the “Thunderwater Organizational Learning Institute” at Richland College. The staff at both colleges were very gracious in welcoming us to their campus, and providing us with enjoyable learning experiences that exceeded both our needs and expectations.
On August 21st, our entire Classroom Connections Team will participate in a day-long retreat to process our learnings and to begin focusing on developing the structure of EICCD’s Faculty Development System.
