The Quad Cities is a natural hub for the transportation industry, with excellent interstate, rail, river and air connections. The need for people with good training
and strong skills in logistics is higher than ever and will continue to grow. Starting pay ranges from $10 to $18 an hour. Jobs are available with such diverse
employers as shipping companies, carriers and government agencies.

Get the training you need

Eastern Iowa Community College District offers the training you need to prepare for a great job in the field of logistics. The 160-hour program has been developed with extensive input from area employers and is designed to meet the skill needs they have identified. The logistics technician program is offered in the evenings at the Blong Technology Center in northwest Davenport.

Courses are offered in four four-week tracks

You can choose all of the tracks or just the ones that fit your needs.

• Logistics Technician Track I: Safety Orientation; 10-Hour OSHA Training; DOZ HazMat Regulations; Forklift Safety Plus; Business Logistics
• Logistics Technician Track II: Transport Economics; Effective Verbal Communication; General Computer Skills
• Logistics Technician Track III: Spreadsheet Programs; Effective Writing Skills
• Logistics Technician Track IV: Supply Chain Management; Principles of Ergonomics; Warehouse Operations; DOT and RCRA Awareness
