Diesel technology technician jobs are projected to increase from 285,200 to 325,600 between 2000 and 2010 in the United States.

Earnings

Median hourly earnings of bus and truck mechanics and diesel engine specialists, including incentive pay, were $17.20 in May 2004. The middle 50 percent earned between $13.73 and $21.13 an hour. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $11.19 and the highest 10 percent earned more than $25.67 an hour.

Scott Community College graduates have a 95% placement rate and make an average of $23,857 starting wages.
