Tuition and Fees Breakdown
 
(Please note that although we make every effort to keep the costs listed below accurate and up-to-date, they are subject to change without notification.)
 
Dot image   TUITION:  The cost to attend the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges is $107 a credit hour for Iowa residents. (Out-of-state tuition is $160.50 a credit hour.)

Dot image   BCLS TRAINING (CPR CERTIFICATION):  This certification, offered through Continuing Education for $50, is good for two years. After that time, it must be renewed.
 
Dot image   UNIFORMS:  Women's uniform pantsuits are $37.25 each and men's uniforms are slightly more. We strongly encourage students to purchase 2 uniforms. Lab coats are also required and are available for $19.95.
 
Dot image   PERSONAL EXPENSES:  Approximate prices for personal expenses that you will encounter include: shoes $40, watch $30, bandage scissors $4, Nursing Lab Kit $34.50, Hepatitis B vaccine (from your own provider) $136, Physical (from your own provider) $40, name pin $5. Health insurance coverage is also required for all students to attend clinical practicum. If you do not currently have health insurance, coverage is available through the Eastern Iowa Community Colleges. Students are also expected to provide proof of required immunizations. If you are unable to obtain these records, you will be responsible for the cost of updating your immunizations through your own health care provider. You will also be responsible for the $15 fee for the required background check.
 
Dot image   BOOKS:  The total cost for books is approximately $1902.65 for the two-year ADN program and $713.70 for the LPN program. This total includes only required texts at full price. Some textbooks will be used for more than one class. Textbooks are subject to change per instructor and prices are subject to change per publisher. Some used books are available on a first-come, first serve basis.
 
Dot image   TRAVEL:  Students will travel to a variety of clinical sites throughout the program. We have estimated travel at 60 miles a day round trip at $.34 a mile, two days a week (total of 12 clinical days per module). The total estimated cost of travel is $2203.20.
 
Dot image   LICENSE AND APPLICATION FEES:  Upon program completion, graduates will be able to apply for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for a total fee of $200. Licensure in the state of Iowa is an additional $143.00.
