A candidate for admission to the Dental Assisting program must:
| Submit the SCC admission application in person or by mail (you will then be placed in the Pre-Dental Assisting category until you are officially accepted into the program.) Students will be placed on the waiting list on a first-come, first-served basis. | |
| Send all high school and official college transcripts to: Office of the Registrar Scott Community College 500 Belmont Road Bettendorf, Iowa 52722 | |
| If you need to take the college Assessment Test, make an appointment with the testing center, (563) 441-4088. You may be exempt from taking this test. See your college advisor for exemption guidelines. | |
| Meet the following academic requirements: A. Be a high school graduate or have a GED score of 50% or better. B. Have a high school GPA of 2.5 or 6 semester hours of completed college work with a "C" or better. C. Assessment test developmental work completed. D. View the "Essentials of Effective Dental Assisting" video. | |
| Have taken one year of high school biology or BIO 112 Introduction to Biology. | |
| Be at college level in English and reading as determined by the College Assessment test (if necessary, appropriate prerequisite course must be taken prior to program enrollment.) | |
| Must satisfactorily complete the medical and dental health packet upon admission to the program. Must have immunization for TB, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Tetanus. Hepatitis B vaccine. |
