YOU MUST PREREGISTER TO ATTEND
- Effective July 1, 2010 New Legislation for all Iowa Nurse Aide Training Programs requires a criminal background check from the Department of Criminal Investigation, and Department of Health & Human Services Abuse Registry to be performed on all NA students. The criminal background check & the abuse registry check is a mandatory requirement for all NA students. A separate fee of $20 is payable at registration to EICC. If the student does not successfully pass the criminal background check or is listed on the Child or Adult Abuse Registry, no refund will be permitted.
- SENATE FILE 2149—CRIMNAL BACKGROUND CHECKS FOR CNA STUDENTS The bill amends Iowa’s law regarding background checks. The bill would require students in certified nurse aide training programs to undergo a background check prior to starting the program. The goal is to prevent the situation of a person getting the training only to discover that they are not allowed to be a certified nurse aide, due to their criminal record or having a case of founded abuse on their record. STATUS: SIGNED BY THE GOVERNOR
- All classes are pay to register, the fee at this time is $375. Fees are subject to change.
- Choose the class from the list below that will work for you.
- TO REGISTER YOU MAY :
- Stop by the SCC Urban Center, 306 W. River Drive, Davenport, IA at the registration center or a campus nearest to you and they will assist you in registering for the class
- Fax your information along with your credit or debit card number or company billing information, a completed background check form, and copy of photo ID to 563-441-4053.
- Whichever way you choose to register, we must have your name, address, social security number (required by the State), phone number, and birth date.
- There may be additional days other than those listed. All class schedules and clinical times are subject to change.
- Approximately one week before the class starts, you will receive a calendar in the mail with the dates and times of your class. You will also receive a medical history form--this is to be filled out by you and brought to your first class, and a TB test form. You will need to get a TB test and bring the results to class.
