As environmental work has matured, many employers have come to
realize that an accomplished person with an Associate's Degree,
trained in the latest technologies and regulations, can effectively
do work that was once reserved for people with undergraduate
degrees.
Health, safety and
environmental knowledge and skills are becoming increasingly more
valuable. The trend is toward hiring individuals who can handle
both safety and environmental responsibilities.
The major areas relating to the protection of people, property
and the environment include:
- Anticipate, identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and
practices.
- Develop hazard control designs, methods, procedures and
programs.
- Implement, administer and advise others on hazard controls and
hazard control programs.
- Measure, audit and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard
controls and hazard control programs.
