The Interpreter Training Program (ITP) is an intensive two-year
program. It contains practical coursework for gaining proficiency
in sign language through classroom style lectures, practicum and
hands-on experience.
Employers have
told us that a solid general education background is a very
important attribute for job seekers, so 15 hours of math, English
and Humanities are included. After the completion of the program,
students can begin work at an entry-level position in the
educational setting or freelance as a sign language
interpreter.
The applications for this job are many. After successful
completion of the Interpreter Training program, you can choose when
and where you would like to work. You'll have the added benefit of
knowing you've chosen a profession that helps people take part in
activities they might otherwise have missed.
AAS Degree
After completion of the full-time two-year
program of 72 credit hours, the student will be awarded an
