Spring Start
The Graphic Arts Technology Program recommends starting in the
Fall. Students should understand that starting in January may
lighten their course load for the remainder of the program, but it
may also take 5 semesters instead of 4 for completion of the degree
program. Any combination of the following courses is suggested.
• ART 120 2D Design (3 cr.)
• ENG 103 Technical Communications OR ENG 105 English
Composition I (3 cr.)
• PSY 111 General Psychology OR SOC 110 Principles of
Sociology (3 cr.)
• ART 101 Art Appreciation OR MUS 100 Music Appreciation
OR PHI 105 Introduction to Ethics (3 cr.)
• BUS 250 Principles of Marketing (Preferred) OR BUS 102
Introduction to Business (3 cr.)
• JOU 171 Introduction to Photography (3 cr.)
• CSC 110 Introduction to Computers (3 cr.)
Some of the Graphic Arts courses may also be available for
January start. These would include:
• GRT 220 Electronic Color Control (Photoshop) (3
cr.)
• GRT 121 Electronic Publishing (InDesign) (3cr.)
• GRT 164 Authoring & Web Development I (XHTML &
CSS) (3cr.)
