The Clinton Community College Technical Drafting and Computer Aided Design program is designed to educate people to become trained Drafting Technicians.  Program graduates are ready to enter the workforce with the knowledge and skills necessary to become proficient in any of the many fields of drafting.

Student at mechanical drafting tableCareer track options in the areas of mechanical, architectural, structural, industrial, civil, piping, along with many others are available for program graduates.  Computer Aided Design training in 2D, 3D and feature-based parametric modeling prepares all Technical Drafting and Computer Aided Design graduates to be proficient on any of the CAD systems found in industry today.

In 2006, the college introduced Geographic Information System (GIS) training into its curriculum. Students learn the latest GIS mapping software available and are prepared for the jobs of tomorrow. GIS is also available as a stand-alone certificate option for those looking for specific training in that software.

The Technical Drafting and Computer Aided Design Program is designed as a two-year program for students who are enrolled on a full-time basis.  The program faculty as well as college counselors and admission personnel will also work with any students who wish to attend on a part-time basis.  Students just have to realize that by doing this it will take longer to earn their degree.

The program is located in the college's state-of-the-art Technology Center at 1951 Manufacturing Drive in Clinton.
