Technical drafting students who earn credits at Clinton Community College may also transfer to various four-year institutions. Ask the program faculty for further information as to where program credits will transfer at qualifying schools.
Accreditation
The Technical Drafting and Computer Aided Design Program began with the formation of the Eastern Iowa Community College District (EICCD) in 1965-1966. There was then, and continues to be, a demand for trained design/drafting technicians that are graduates of certified technical programs.
The Technical Drafting and Computer Aided Design Program is approved by the State of Iowa Department of Public Instruction, has a 10-year accreditation from the North Central Association of Colleges which was last received in 1993, and is also accredited by the American Design Drafting Association (ADDA), which certifies the program at the Design Drafter level and has to be renewed each year.
Beginning in 1993, the ADDA began its Drafter Certification Program in which a Drafting Technician could participate by taking and passing the ADDA Drafter Certification Test. Clinton Community College subsequently has become an authorized testing site for the ADDA test.
