Accounting Management
Scott Community College
Program Description
You can earn an accounting diploma and seek employment after one year, or continue your training to earn the AAS degree, graduating as an accounting specialist. As a specialist you'll be prepared for a position as an entry-level accountant, accounting specialist, technician or paraprofessional, or as a junior accountant. Training in accounting is invaluable for management at all levels.
Our program teaches the accounting courses that students would receive in a four-year program in just two years. Graduates are eligible for the Accounting Practitioner exam or several other specialized certifications such as payroll or tax professional, further options that lend high potential to your degree.
If you have good communication skills, an aptitude for mathematics, the ability to analyze, compare and interpret facts and figures quickly and make sound judgements based on this knowledge, you are a good candidate for the Accounting Specialist program.
