Dr. Dan and Dr. Jo Drahos are '93 and '94 graduates of Iowa State University. Dr. Dan practiced large and small animal medicine in Eldridge while Dr. Jo practiced small animal and avian medicine in Davenport. In 2000, Dr. Dan gave up his large animal connections when they purchased Riverside Animal Hospital and moved to Muscatine. Dr. Dan still maintains his role as the CEO of the Animal Emergency Center of the Quad Cities in Bettendorf which he initiated in 1999.

Dr. Jo has been active as a member of the MCC advisory committee for the Vet Tech Program since its inception. She realized in October, 2009, that the need for a Program Veterinarian could be fulfilled with the combined efforts of the two of them. Dr. Dan's experience in surgery and large animals along with Dr. Jo's experience in internal medicine and exotics make a very potent team. Together their broad experience and knowledge as well as diverse interest and skills offer the Vet Tech program an excellent opportunity to teach the students. Drs. Dan and Jo have been excited with this new challenge and hope to add strength to what promises to be a strong program.
