The Veterinary Technician program meets the Associate in Applied Science degree requirements for individuals entering the job market with the skills to perform a variety of functions as entry-level registered veterinary technicians (VT).
The VT is an important member of the veterinary health care team who has been educated in the care and handling of animals, the basic principles of normal and abnormal life processes and in routine laboratory and clinical procedures.
A VT assists a veterinarian, biomedical research workers and other scientists, performing many of the same tasks that nurses and other professionals perform for physicians.
A career as a VT requires a minimum of two years of college education.
