When students graduate from our agriculture programs they have
more than an education, they have a resume. A key component of our
programs, the foundation on which they are built, is the
cooperative work experience. Students spend a large share of their
time getting on-the-job experience at agriculturally-related
businesses.
That pays tremendous dividends for our
students in a number of different ways. One of the biggest is that
they have more than classroom grades to show for the time they
spend earning their degree. They can show a prospective employer an
actual resume of work experience, giving them a leg up on students
from other colleges who are competing for those same jobs.
A second big advantage is that, well, it pays. Students can
actually earn enough money during their time in college to pay off
their college education. In fact, many students even have a little
spending money left over after they pay their bills.
All of our agriculture career programs are located at Muscatine
Community College. For students from outside the Muscatine area,
the college's modern student housing complex is just a few steps away from
your classroom.
