Equestrian Science
Clinton, Muscatine and Scott Community College
Program Description
Equestrian Science is a cooperative program between Eastern Iowa Community Colleges and Black Hawk College.
All courses are offered in a classroom setting* and are held at Black Hawk College located in Kewanee, IL. Students also participate in supervised on-the-job experience. The Equestrian Science program prepares students for employment in all phases of the horse industry or for transfer to a four-year school in order to pursue a bachelor’s degree related to horsemanship. At completion of the curriculum, students are awarded an A.A.S.
Students enroll in the Equestrian Science courses through their home college (CCC, MCC, or SCC) to take advantage of our in-state tuition rates. An additional lab fee of $875 for the first fall semester, and $450 for the first spring semester, covers the cost of grain, hay, bedding and use of facility for the horse used by the student in their riding course.
